I see you with your palms in your pants but me, see me, I got the world in my hands.

262. Birthdays.

A birthday is one of the most special holidays in the world. I believe that every birthday should be celebrated to the fullest. This is an amazing video that shows how something very little can make someone feel very, very important. The power of love is so very awesome.

In Denmark, Mukhtar the bus driver had a birthday. He worked that day. His regular passengers had an idea. This is so special. Enjoy.

261. B.O.B.

I forgot about music.

I forgot that music had a soul, had a voice, had a reason.

With all of the hype surrounded pop culture music today it's hard to find a reason to keep listening. One must search in order to find raw, uncut songs that contain talent. Autotune has killed music. Or has it made it better? In some ways more people listen to music now...however it's a very different scene before.

With all of this said...I bring you this. You might recognize two out of the three of these people. Both Andrew and Tori were on American Idol this season. Now...YouTube was their start...and that's where I began my journey with these two. When they came onto idol I already knew their music and capabilities. In my opinion, these two have some of the most raw talent one can have. AJ Rafael is also a YouTube sensation. The three of them came up with this and it's a nice breath of fresh air. Enjoy!

260. Hit it.

I might be moving back to my tumblr starting this summer. This blog is getting eatin up by spambots and I don't really know how to fix all that. Maybe I'm lazy but maybe I just need a change of pace. Plus everyone seems to be on the tumblr ish and I can update it from the iPhone easier. Okay now here I go.

I been waitin around all year for the summer.
The fact that it's not here yet is a bummer.
I hear that there is more rain in the forecast - grab a number.
Got the whole block thinking how did she do it
I even have people who never knew me thinking through it.
Wake up each morning with a little shot of water
I leave the drinking and the smoking to people who have no alma-mater.
And you just got schooled.
Just because I have no formal training doesn't mean I'm fooled.
I don't really like parties.
The last time I went to one I came back smelling like bacardi...lemon.
It's seven, the clock moves so slowly
and all the people in this room live the life of a lowly-
one, and this is how it's done.
I have 27 poems that I've gotta rap into one.
I sent out my stuff to hear a reply from one
saying I think you can making just keep writing for fun.
So I sit inside my cave picking apart me coming undone.
And it's all for the art.
Never knew that once I started it would all just fall apart.
I sit and dream of one day everyone finishing and me still at the start.
I sit and dream of an island - one that I've named.
Different is what I strive for while you just stay the same
in the tight little group that makes the world just go insane
and I have no one to blame if I fail at this craft
I see a million others try to tread while I sit inside my raft
because I float with the best of em
I'm the flower you're the stem
You stay awake and I'm R-E-M -
deep dreamer, word screamer
girl wonder, wonder of words
never believe all of what you've heard
Don't try this at home unless you know
You're running out of places and this is the last to go.
Adios.

259. Music Spot.

David Ryan Harris is and always has been one of my very favorite musicians. He is (in my opinion) an extremely underrated artist for all that he has accomplished and continues to do. His voice is pitch perfect and the guitar skills are incredible. David Ryan Harris has been one of John Mayer's right hand men for a long time. It's through Mayer that I discovered Harris' wonderful talent. This video is probably my favorite. I think I've posted it a while back on here but I'll post it again. Check out his music sometime. Enjoy!

258. Two..Two.

A week from tomorrow I'll be 22. Remind me to post something insightful about my year as a 21 year old.

Happiness is...
- Creating my own summer break at the start of spring.
- Not quite knowing where the next adventure will be.
- Breakfast burritos.
- Iphone.
- Having the fever...you know...Bieber fever.
- Good hair days.
- The first burn (that turns into a tan) of spring.
- Kaitlynn being extremely smart.
- Finally finishing my credential packet.
- Watching The Office on Netflix.
- Birthday wish lists.
- Reading tweets (not tweeting).
- Sending poetry out..regardless if it comes back.
- Snail mail.
- Gmail.
- Receiving mail.
- Staying out of jail.
- Sun, clouds, a light breeze...no hail.
- Walking down the stairs being able to hold onto a rail.
- Believing that there is wind in your sails.
- Not having a tail.
- Having friends that don't bail.
- Enough of that long rhyming trail.
- Thinking I can beat box.
- Nostalgia.
- Waking up and realizing I have 2 more hours of sleep.
- Fresh sheets.
- Burberry.
- Lint rollers.
- Hearst Castle.
- Remembering how much I like the ocean.
- Disney museum and its ability to make me want to go to Disneyland.
- Thinking of the future (not too much).
- Family days.
- Australia.
- Loving the life I live..and living the life I love.

If you were confused on the break situation, I am taking my "summer" currently. I will hopefully begin my credential program in June which will have me in class full time as well as a job full time. This past quarter for school was overwhelming with 24 units so I decided that from April until graduation...I'm taking a "summer". I've been having a blast visiting people, hanging out, sleeping in, and finding time for myself. It's been nice being able to enjoy what's around me for the first time in a long time.

I went to Hearst Castle last week with Jen. We had a blast! Here are some pictures of my future home.
