Recently I came across a video that made me reconsider how I am living my own life as a person today. Sometimes the day to day tasks at hand make it difficult to do something you love. I will preach this and definitely need to practice it more often. DO SOMETHING YOU LOVE EVERY DAY. If you don't...you're cheating yourself as well as others from the gifts you've been given.
This is a public school choir from Staten Island, New York. They are not from an art and music school, they are not a professional chorus in any way...they just love to sing. I believe that these kids are a true testament to following your dreams. These kids are in 5th grade. Watch closely. They have no shame and feel every piece of the music. Passion exudes from these kids. Usually...by 5th grade...this thing with hormones and fitting in comes into play. Most 5th graders I know wouldn't even want to shut their eyes for one moment while they sing in fear that another kid might see them actually enjoying the song. These kids are on a completely different level. Good for them and good for this choir teacher for teaching these kids to do what they love and love what they do. It shows.
